India’s Geographical Centre

Zero Mile Indicator in Nagpur

Most of us would have wondered whether India had a Geographical Centre and must have pondered where it could be. No worries even if you have not done it, but  just for your information that a place like that exists. Its the “City of Oranges”, Nagpur (Maharashtra) which lies at the heart of India. There is a place called as the “Zero Mile Marker” which indicates the geographical centre of India. The city was famous during the Maratha Empire for its oranges.

The zero Mile Indicator is a stone pillar carved on it are various distances to all the nearby cities, residing near it are four carved horses (which I presume are an indication for the four directions North-South-East-West). So don’t forget to have a look at the Zero Mile Indicator whenever you visit the City
